Operations Leader

Key Areas – Scope of duties

Safety First:

Oversight of Safety. Direct involvement with Safety vendor and ensuring that key measures are cascaded through all managers and their teams.

Sales:

• Locate and initiate communications with new customers in the business focus areas.

Management leadership:

• Heavy communication and interaction with customers, suppliers, internal customers, managers and employees.
• Develops, validates, and provides all Training for managers and their teams
• Provides training and support to managers on counseling, support and development of their teams.
• Leads by example; subject matter expert on processes, policies and best practice.

 

Manages Internal System information:

• Ensures centralized computer software is being utilized and information is correct.
• Schedules for team, on call schedules, project boards, work load board, time off and staffing.

 

Project Management:

• Quote projects and large repair work.
• Creating proper Job Matrices.
• Verify/Validate all financial inputs are correct; working with internal teams.
• Build Scope letters, task items with timelines, trace and track.
• Ensure parts, rentals, equipment, any other requirements are in place.
• Time tracking and any cost variations that need immediate attention.
• End of project reporting; including post-mortem.
• Sub-contractor set up and vetting if or as needed.

 

Parts/Inventory/Fleet management:

• Oversee the Parts department; including all inventory at locations and in company vehicles.
• Source vendors for best service, pricing. Ensure that proper processes are followed. Acts as communicator between parts and managers when issues arise or decisions are needed.
• Monitors online Fleet management system and ensures processes are followed.
• Fuel Card program oversite and management in conjunction with Accounting team.

 

Analytical

• Strong skill set with various software and apps to provide analytics for the business, profitability, and determine KPI’s for the Managers and teams.
• Ability to produce valid data points for key decisions.

 

REQUIRES:

• Minimum of 5 years of previous successful experience in an Industrial Operations position leading 25-50 employees or more in a Field Service business encompassing multiple areas throughout the United States and North America.
• 3-5 years minimum experience in a leadership role with selection, hiring, onboarding, training and developing employees and willingness to have tough conversations with positive outcomes. 
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Integrity and personal accountability are ‘must haves’.
• Strong computer skills including MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) with heavy use of apps in conducting business transactions.
• Highly organized, comfortable with deadlines and multiple commitments.
• Ability to travel 30-50% or more as needed.
• Ability to base in the Covington, Louisiana area within a reasonable commutable distance.
