Clinical Director

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Adult Skills Center (TASC) provides innovative and proactive services that empower individuals with diverse intellectual, developmental, and mental health needs to achieve their highest level of Independence and realize their greatest potential. The Clinical Director oversees all clinical operations and clinical staff and reports to the Deputy Executive Director and the President & CEO. Primary responsibilities include the initiation, development, maintenance, evaluation, and modification of all clinical programs of the organization. The Clinical Director also manages and supervises the clinical functions, policies and procedures, relevant staff, and delegated activities of the organization.

Primary Duties:

1. Program Management
   1. Serves as a member of the organization's Management Team. Under the leadership of the Executive Director, the Management Team establishes expectations for the organization, coordinates efforts to meet these expectations, and solves problems hindering achievement of expectations. The Clinical Director takes particular responsibility for clinical treatment aspects of the organization's functioning.
   2. Monitors and evaluates the performance of individuals across departments in accordance with the organization's personnel policies. The Clinical Director collaborates with the department director and approves evaluations of all employees under his/her supervision. Facilitates the professional growth of staff through supervision, establish priorities and goals, monitoring/approving professional development funds, and giving performance appraisal.
   3. Ensures appropriate supervision and clinical training for program staff.
   4. Works cooperatively with the Management Team in program development, implementation, ongoing management, and quality assurance of organization clinical services.
   5. Assists in interpreting the organization's program to the community and ensures that the organization works collaboratively with other community resources to coordinate clinical services for the clients and the community.
   6. Ensures that new and existing POS's for clinical services are met.
   7. Provides leadership to staff in program development, and clinical services, and strives to increase professional growth and effectiveness through training and by keeping abreast of current trends and theories in relevant areas.
   8. Responsible for agency-wide clinical program planning, development, implementation, and evaluation.
   9. Organizes and conducts meetings, training programs, etc., as appropriate to the program development and maintenance needs of the organization.
   10. Represents the organization in the community, on boards, committees, etc. as appropriate and before various county, state, and federal funding and regulatory agencies as schedule permits.
   11. Participate in the hiring, training, and ongoing supervision of clinical program staff.
   12. Provide supervision and mentorship to program staff including delegating duties and responsibilities according to their job descriptions, meeting with other Directors on a as needed basis, keeping written documentation of all meetings, directives and agreements, and conducting annual job performance evaluations.
   13. Oversee and provide appropriate support and consultation to interdepartmental clinicians
   14. Ensure quality of clinical services being provided are in line with organizational standards.
   15. Collaborate with all TASC departments and foster team engagement.
   16. Participate in program evolution and growth in areas of need.
   17. Review and approve ISP reports as needed.
   18. Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

1. Client Engagement
   1. Assure that clients have a recognized voice in organization functioning via client surveys, interviews etc.
   2. Conduct client intakes, assessments, and evaluate the appropriateness of each case as needed. Ensure appropriate supports are in place.
   3. Provide program services as needed.
   4. Assist with client case management as needed.
   5. Assure that treatment options for clients are culturally sensitive and appropriate.
   6. Participate in assigned Circle of Support meetings when needed.
   7. Ensure the timeliness, quality, and submission of reports to Regional Center and other agencies as needed.
   8. Participate in the development and implementation of behavior support plans as needed.

1. TASC Leadership
   1. Represent TASC within the community.
   2. Participate on community boards and/or committees in order to enhance community knowledge of TASC as well as provide TASC with relationships with additional community resources as time permits.
   3. Participate in TASC strategic plan implementation.
   4. Participate in Director Committees and contribute ideas.
   5. Serves as a positive role model for peers and staff
   6. Foster a positive work environment through constructive feedback and problem solving
   7. Encourage learning, personal growth, and positive attitude

1. Other Duties
   1. Perform other duties as assigned
   2. Perform other off-site duties as assigned
   3. Participate in weekly meetings, trainings, etc. as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:

1. Master's preferred in Applied Behavior Analysis, special education, psychology, child development or related field and/or three years of experience in a human service delivery system, including at least one year in a comparable program; Bachelor's degree with experience considered. LMFT, BCBA, LCSW and other comparable licensure preferred.
2. Possess and maintain a valid, active license/certification as applicable.
3. Maintain valid First Aid/CPR certification.
4. Prior experience with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
5. Experience in design and implementation of individualized service plans for clients.
6. Experience navigating the regional center system and has an understanding of the authorization process.

Physical Requirements:

1. Must have current California Driver's license/Insurance and clean DMV driving record.
2. Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
3. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
4. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
5. Must be able to carry out job responsibilities with reasonable accommodations.

Completion of Professional Crisis Management Instructor Certification (provided by TASC) is required and must be maintained for this position. It is not recommended for:


1) Individuals who have mobility and/or range of motion problems


2) Individuals with recent fractures or surgeries


3) Individuals who have suffered any kind of joint injury requiring medical attention in the past 6 months

4) Individuals with poor balance, flexibility or agility
