Security Officer

Under supervision, guards, patrols, or monitors premises, facilities and other areas to prevent theft, violence, and infractions of rules. Secures and protects facility in case of fires, natural disasters, or other hazardous events. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure the safety and security for all individuals, staff and visitors. Complete all incident reports and daily logs. Monitor the Unit/CSC/Temp OBS for illegal weapons, drugs and contraband. Patrol the facility to ensure that it is safe and secure. Ensure that there are no elopements on your shift. If elopements occur, follow facility policy and procedures related to elopements. Inventory individual’s valuable belongings upon intake, ensuring that items are documented in detail and are locked away in the safe in the triage area. Upon discharge ensure that individual’s valuables are returned to individual. Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor. Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to respond to the agency/site Emergency Preparedness Plan. (Safety, Security, Emergency Preparedness, Life Safety Management, Utility Management, Use of Equipment.) Knowledge of how to de-escalate situations. Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: High school diploma or GED. Note. Some positions may require P.O.S.T. certification. Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry up to 25/50 lbs. Physical Demands may include: sitting, standing and/or walking, pushing/pulling, handling, reaching, bending, twisting, crawling, kneeling, squatting, climbing (ladders or stairs), overhead reaching. #J-18808-Ljbffr
