Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contract position focuses on supporting elementary-aged learners through direct in-person engagement. You’ll collaborate closely with teachers and staff, providing critical resources and counseling to help students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required
• Current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Social Worker endorsement
• Prior experience working within school settings or with elementary-aged children
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
• Capacity to organize and manage a part-time schedule (0.4 FTE) throughout the academic year
• Passion for fostering positive development in children from diverse backgrounds

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct social-emotional support to students through individual and group sessions
• Assess students’ needs and implement evidence-based interventions in collaboration with teachers and administrators
• Consult regularly with families to address concerns impacting student well-being
• Support the school in implementing proactive strategies to address behavioral and academic challenges
• Maintain accurate records and documentation according to school and district guidelines
• Participate in student support meetings, IEP planning, and multidisciplinary team discussions
• Serve mainly on site at West Elementary during school hours; this position is entirely in-person
