Accounting Specialist

Our client in Springdale, AR is looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join their accounting team. The Accounting Specialist helps keep the company's financial records accurate by supporting accounts payable, sales tax, and general accounting. This position pays $18.00 per hour. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with numbers, stays organized, and likes being part of a team. The Accounting Specialist works in an office setting with frequent contact with other employees and handles confidential company, employee, and client information, so discretion and professionalism are a must. Job Responsibilities: Enter accounts payable (AP) invoices into the company's computer system according to each vendor's terms. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any differences. Help the AP Lead keep W-9s and certificates of insurance up to date. Learn the sales tax process and provide backup support when needed. Assist with accounting tasks for month-end close. Maintain monthly general ledger (GL) reconciliations. Prepare accurate weekly and monthly reports on time. Provide great service to coworkers and vendors with a positive, patient attitude. Take part in special department projects and help the team keep improving. Provide administrative backup and handle other duties as assigned by management. Occasionally drive a vehicle for business errands or deliveries. Job Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. 1–2 years of accounting experience preferred. Accounting software experience preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Good verbal and written communication skills. Strong customer service, organization, and time-management skills. Able to complete daily tasks accurately with limited supervision. Able to stay focused for long periods and adapt to changing priorities. Able to occasionally lift and carry up to 20 lbs and to sit or stand for long periods.
