Assembly Technician I

SUMMARY:

We are looking for Assembly Technicians at all levels of experience for a hands-on work environment performing a variety of tasks to support the engineering, manufacturing and production teams. Daily responsibilities may include production assembly, engineering assembly, receiving support, packaging and shipping. Previous experience with electromechanical assembly, ESD sensitive hardware, or a clean room environment is encouraged. The Assembly Technician reports to the Technician Lead.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Performs mechanical assembly according to verbal and written instructions including fastening, bonding, and riveting
• Supports engineering testing, manufacturing efforts
• Reads and understands blueprints, schematics and technical diagrams
• Uses chemicals, adhesives, and solvents as required
• Works with the ERP (Epicor) system to track hardware, and ensure jobs are completed on time
• Assists with test setup and execution when needed
• Assists with packaging and shipping of hardware and equipment
• Observes safety and security procedures, reports potentially unsafe conditions

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Experience using basic hand and power tools with a strong mechanical aptitude.
• Basic understanding of hand tools and a willingness to develop and expand your technical skill set.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Self-motivated with a positive, team-oriented attitude and the ability to work independently when needed.
• Comfortable standing and performing repetitive tasks for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Experience or interest in working with the surface preparation of metallic and composite materials.
• Ability to safely use chemicals, adhesives, and solvents while following established procedures and wearing the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Typically possesses 2+ years of experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or a related production environment.
• Demonstrates an exceptional work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn.
• Physical requirements include moderate physical and repetitive work, standing for extended periods, the use of stairs, and occasional heavy lifting.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience working with FOD
• Previous experience with ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements
• Experience working in a high-paced, challenging work environment with high attention to detail work
