Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Profession: RN (Registered Nurse)

Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: 12 Hours Nights with some days coverage if needed - plus call; scheduled 3 out of 4 weekends

Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week

Experience: Minimum of 2 years full-time LDRP experience required

License: Current RN license in the State

Certifications: Current BLS certification, Current NRP certification, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring course preferred


Must-Have: 1 year MedSurg experience

Description:


Rotating days and nights with weekday/weekend rotation.

The average number of births is approximately 25 to 33 per month.

Facility includes 6 birthing suites and 4 postpartum/surgical rooms.

There are 3 OB/GYNs and 4 Family Practice MDs who perform deliveries.

A Lactation Consultant is available 3 days a week.

The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1 nurse with up to 2 mothers and babies, with the possibility of caring for 3 mothers and babies at times.

One nurse is assigned per labor patient.

Most births are not high-risk, as those cases are usually referred elsewhere when possible.

Nurses do not circulate during C-Sections but assist with the baby.
