Perform a variety of technical duties in the Operating Room to assist the surgical team and ensure safe, efficient surgical procedures. Prepare Operating Room with appropriate instruments and supplies based on surgical procedure Scrub in, maintain aseptic technique, and proactively monitor for potential breaches Assist physicians and nurses during procedures, including skin preparation, draping, and transferring patients Hand instruments to surgeons in correct order, assist in specimen preparation, and apply postoperative dressings Ensure patient positioning based on surgical needs and monitor patient safety throughout the procedure Track and maintain surgical equipment, ensure proper functioning and cleanliness after use Collaborate with circulating nurse to confirm accurate surgical counts Uphold ethical standards and demonstrate calmness in emergent situations Perform other duties as assigned What Sets BRG Apart: At Baton Rouge General, we are a community of compassionate, caring individuals who set the bar when it comes to healthcare excellence.
