Senior Vice President, Accounting and Corporate Controller

Stoke Therapeutics seeks a Senior Vice President of Accounting and Corporate Controller to lead financial operations, SEC reporting, and internal controls as the company scales from pre-commercial to commercial stage. Reporting to the CFO, this executive will build audit-ready infrastructure, manage technical accounting, and ensure SOX compliance for a public biotech company.
Responsibilities
- Lead global accounting operations including general ledger, payables, payroll, inventory, and cost accounting
- Own SEC filing integrity, timeliness, and quality for Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K
- Set technical accounting policy on complex transactions including revenue recognition and partnerships
- Establish and strengthen internal control framework and SOX compliance
- Advise CFO and executive leadership on accounting implications of commercial launches and business development
Requirements
- Proven SEC reporting expertise and public company financial leadership
- SOX Section 404 implementation and compliance experience
- Deep technical accounting knowledge in life sciences or biopharmaceuticals
- Track record managing enterprise accounting operations and close processes
- Strong understanding of revenue recognition, particularly GTN deductions and collaborative arrangements
- Experience building scalable finance infrastructure and teams
