Insurance Supervisor

The Louisiana Department of Insurance is seeking a motivated and experienced Insurance Supervisor to join the Office of Consumer Services/Market Conduct Division. In this role, you'll lead a team of Insurance Specialists responsible for monitoring the conduct of insurance entities operating in Louisiana, reviewing referrals and other information to identify potential market concerns, and supporting regulatory oversight efforts. Minimum Qualifications:

Six years of experience in insurance, administrative services, investigations, or law enforcement: OR Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus three years of experience in insurance, administrative services, investigations, or law enforcement; OR A bachelor's degree plus three years of experience in insurance, administrative services, investigations, or law enforcement; OR An advanced degree plus two years of experience in insurance, administrative services, investigations, or law enforcement. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information:

As an Insurance Supervisor in the Office of Consumer Services/Market Conduct Division, you will/may:

• Supervise Market Conduct Insurance Specialists, including assigning and reviewing work and providing ongoing guidance, feedback, and coaching.
• Review referrals, self-reports, and other information to identify insurance entities that may demonstrate market conduct or performance concerns.
• Assign Market Conduct Insurance Specialists to reviews based on the complexity of the matter and each employee's area of expertise.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for the Office of Consumer Services and provide technical guidance and support to staff.
• Assist the Insurance Administrator and Market Conduct Division Manager with quarterly quality assurance audits and other efforts to promote accuracy and consistency in the division's work.
• Participate in the recruitment and selection of Market Conduct Division staff.
• Review and approve employee leave requests and time entries.
• Manage Market Conduct files and records using Department systems and other required recordkeeping methods in accordance with Louisiana law and Department procedures.
• Participate in professional development and training leading to the completion of the MCM, PIR, AIE, and CIE designations.
• Perform other duties related to market conduct oversight as assigned.
