Summary of Job Duties

The UAMS Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery is seeking a fellowship-trained Head and Neck Surgeon to join its growing academic practice. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive, patient-centered care for adults with benign and malignant tumors of the head and neck while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. This faculty position also offers opportunities to educate residents and medical students, participate in clinical research, and contribute to the department's academic mission.

Qualifications

• MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree from an accredited institution.
• Successful completion of an accredited residency in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery.
• Successful completion of fellowship training in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology.
• Board certified or board eligible in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage patients with benign and malignant diseases of the head and neck.
• Perform head and neck surgical procedures consistent with the physician's training, experience, and clinical privileges.
• Collaborate with medical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, radiology, speech pathology, and other specialties to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor conferences and departmental quality-improvement activities.
• Educate and supervise residents, fellows, and medical students in clinical and surgical settings.
• Participate in departmental call coverage and other clinical responsibilities as assigned.
• Support scholarly activity through clinical research, presentations, publications, and other academic contributions.
• Participate in departmental, institutional, and professional service activities.

Salary Information: commensurate with education and experience
