The Landscape Mechanic is responsible for performing advanced on-site diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on commercial landscaping equipment. This role requires strong mechanical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a safety-first mindset. The Landscape Mechanic plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, maintaining fleet reliability, and supporting field operations. Key Responsibilities Perform complex on-site diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on commercial lawn mowers and two-cycle equipment, including string trimmers, edgers, and backpack blowers Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system issues Maintain service vehicles, trailers, tools, equipment, and shop inventory in safe and working condition Support seasonal parts inventory planning, stocking, and organization as needed Accurately track time, materials, and parts used for repairs and maintenance Complete all required documentation and work orders in a timely and accurate manner Follow all safety rules, regulations, and company policies while performing work assignments Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational needs Skills & Attributes Advanced knowledge of mechanical equipment maintenance and repair Strong critical thinking and diagnostic skills with the ability to perform complex repairs independently High attention to detail and organizational discipline Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, field-oriented environment Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision Willingness to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions Position Requirements Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record per fleet insurance standards Ability to pass drug screening Ability to consistently lift, push, pull, and move up to 75 pounds High school diploma or GED Demonstrated ability to operate commercial lawn equipment and related tools Expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in equipment and vehicle repair Weekly pay Medical, dental, and vision insurance Employer-paid life insurance 401(k) Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid holidays Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Work Conditions This position may require local travel as operational needs demand.
