Contract Accountant / Controller for AeroBarrier West
AeroBarrier Carve-Out Accounting (NetSuite to QuickBooks)

Bountiful, UT | Full-Time | $80k-$100k DOE

Engagement type: Independent contractor (1099) - may possibly convert to FT Hire, DOE

Pay: $40-$50/hr (est hours 40 hr/week for 6 weeks = 240 hrs = contract of $9,600 ~ $12,250)
Location: Onsite at office in Bountiful UT 84010 (Address provided after contract secured)
Duration: Approximately 4–8 weeks, full-time for the engagement period

CONTRACT ACCOUNTING CONSULTANT
AeroBarrier West (ABW) seeks a hands-on Consultant with skills as a Senior Accountant or Accounting Controller to perform carve-out accounting. Our goal is to remove ABW from a family of companies owned by Redfish Investments (currently managed in Netsuite). Familiarity with Netsuite is desired in order to find and migrate critical information and must be fluent in Quickbooks in order to build ABW as a stand-alone company detangled from intercompany relationships. This consultant may be retained to help manage migration of other companies from Netsuite to QuickBooks.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Deep proficiency in QuickBooks Online software
- Ability to navigate NetSuite (to extract data)
- Ability to act as a “low-level controller” willing to be “in the weeds” of the data cleanup
- Maintain high-level & strategic financial oversight for potential merger/acquisition of ABW
- Experience in construction, renovation, or restoration industries is a bonus.

SUMMARY
Redfish Investments is seeking an experienced accountant, CPA, or hands-on controller for a short-term, onsite engagement to perform carve-out accounting for AeroBarrier, a portfolio company whose financial records currently reside within Redfish’s consolidated NetSuite instance. The objective of this engagement is to extract, reconcile, and independently stand up AeroBarrier’s books as a standalone entity in QuickBooks — producing a clean, audit-ready opening position and a reporting structure that AeroBarrier’s ongoing finance team can operate and trust going forward.

This is a hands-on, individual-contributor engagement. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently inside a live NetSuite environment, is fluent in Quickbooks Online, and has real carve-out or entity-separation experience, and can move at the pace this timeline requires without sacrificing accuracy.

DETAILED SCOPE OF WORK

• Review Redfish’s NetSuite instance to document how AeroBarrier is currently structured within it (subsidiary, class, department, location) & how AeroBarrier-specific activity is currently disting- uished from Redfish/ other portfolio companies.
  
• Identify and extract all AeroBarrier-specific balances/transactions, including isolating shared/allocated overhead, intercompany charges, intercompany loans or investment balances, co-mingled vendor or customer activity.

• Design standalone chart of accounts & entity structure for ABW in QuickBooks, informed by the reporting gaps the current NetSuite setup has been unable to solve.
  
• Migrate and/or re-key historical data into QuickBooks: customers, vendors, items/inventory, open accounts receivable and payable, fixed assets, and an opening trial balance for an agreed-upon look-back period.
  
• Reconcile the carved-out opening balance sheet in QuickBooks against source records in NetSuite; research and resolve variances, and document the reconciliation for audit support.
  
• Define and document the accounting treatment for any intercompany relationships that continue post-carve-out (shared services, transition arrangements, wind-down of intercompany balances, etc.)
  
• Build a core QuickBooks reporting package from day one (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow & specific operating metrics of ABW) which Netusite has failed to reliably report in a simple dashboard.
  
• Prepare handoff memo documenting accounting policies, chart-of-accounts logic & open items for AeroBarrier’s ongoing bookkeeper or controller.

• Support a short parallel-run/verification period comparing QuickBooks output to NetSuite before final sign-off and cutover.
  
• Coordinate as needed with Redfish’s outside CPA firm/auditors on accounting treatment of carve-out.
  

QUALIFICATIONS

• CPA license strongly preferred; will also consider a non-CPA controller with equivalent hands-on carve-out/close experience.
  
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle bookkeeping through financial statement preparation.
  
• Direct, hands-on working experience in both NetSuite and QuickBooks (Online or Desktop) — this is not optional; the candidate must be able to work efficiently in the source system as well as build out the destination system.
  
• Prior experience with carve-out accounting, divestiture accounting, entity separation, or M&A integration/deconsolidation strongly preferred.
  
• Strong account reconciliation and variance-research skills; comfortable tracing transactions across systems without full documentation in place.
  
• Advanced Excel skills for data mapping, reconciliation, and validation.

• Able to work independently with minimal oversight and manage a compressed timeline.
  
• Willing to sign a confidentiality/NDA agreement given access to sensitive financial and ownership information.
  
• Available onsite for the full engagement period.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
(1) AeroBarrier’s books exist independently in QuickBooks, reconciled to NetSuite by agreed cutover date.

(2) Redfish and AeroBarrier leadership can pull basic financial and operating metrics directly from QuickBooks without needing a NetSuite specialist to build a custom saved search.
