General Sales Manager

Company Description D1 Training is a leading athletic-based fitness company that helps individuals of all ages achieve their sport and fitness goals through structured, age-specific programs. Locations offer training for youth, teens, and adults, built around five core tenets: dynamic warm-up, performance series, strength program, core and conditioning, and cool down. Workouts are refreshed every eight weeks by D1’s National Training Panel to keep members progressing toward targeted results. In addition to group sessions, D1 Training provides one-on-one coaching that has been trusted by professional and Olympic athletes. The brand currently has more than 170 facilities open, over 250 in development, and strong growth plans over the next several years. Role Description The General Sales Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at the D1 Training facility in Chattanooga, TN. This role is responsible for driving membership sales and revenue by leading the sales process from lead generation and prospect qualification to closing and onboarding new members. The General Sales Manager manages daily outreach activities, including phone calls, emails, social media engagement, and in-person tours, while maintaining accurate records in the customer relationship management (CRM) system. The role includes building and coaching a high-performing sales team, setting clear performance targets, and monitoring key metrics such as conversion rates and retention. The General Sales Manager collaborates closely with coaches and operations staff to ensure a positive member experience, supports local marketing initiatives and events, and represents the D1 Training brand in the community. Qualifications Demonstrated sales leadership skills, including experience managing a sales pipeline, conducting consultations, and closing membership or service-based sales. Strong customer relationship and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse clients, handle objections, and provide clear, motivating information about programs and services. Experience in team management and coaching, including setting goals, providing feedback, and supporting professional development for sales or front-desk staff. Operational and organizational skills, including comfort with CRM tools, scheduling systems, reporting, and tracking key performance metrics. Background or strong interest in fitness, sports performance, or wellness; prior experience in a fitness or membership-based environment is highly beneficial. Ability to work on-site in Chattanooga, TN, with flexibility for peak hours, including evenings and weekends as needed. Proven problem-solving skills, integrity in handling sensitive member information, and a commitment to inclusive, high-quality service.
