Director, Project/Program Management, Wound Closure and Healing - MedTech

Job Overview The Director, Project/Program Management – Wound Closure and Healing (PPMG) will manage a team of Project Heads, lead cross‑functional collaboration, and oversee new product program delivery for surgical devices. The role serves on the WCH R&D leadership team, advocates for projects, and ensures alignment with global regulatory, clinical, and commercial requirements. Responsibilities Manage Project Heads for Wound Closure & Healing innovation programs. Own all executional aspects of WCH new product development programs. Track program progress, accelerate timelines, and identify and mitigate risks. Escalate concerns to the VP, WCH R&D and/or Operating Committee as needed. Provide operational expertise to the Head of PPMG for reviews, scenario development, trade‑off analysis, and improvement opportunities. Partner with VP, WCH R&D to set Innovation Goals & Objectives and align them with platform initiatives. Develop the WCH R&D leadership team charter, define scopes, produce agendas, and maintain efficient decision making. Monitor and follow up on action items to ensure rapid progress. Secure trade‑off decisions to manage time, scope, and resources, and appropriately escale challenges. Champion a culture of empowerment, urgency, and accountability across cross‑functional teams. Communicate effectively with executive leadership and other sponsors. Lead portfolio reviews, promote wins, and maintain stakeholder awareness. Engage early with project teams to define and socialize value propositions. Ensure alignment of project teams with platform and portfolio strategy. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a scientific discipline. Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience, including experience delivering innovation programs. Project management experience with materials, biologics, or clinical focus. Understanding of global regulatory and clinical requirements for complex medical devices. Demonstrated success partnering and influencing within a matrix environment. Experience with Class II & III medical devices. Effective change leadership and management skills. Capability to develop talent and culture to achieve results. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project); JIRA or SmartSheet preferred. Up to 10% domestic and international travel. Prior people‑leadership experience. Required and Preferred Skills Required: Agile decision making, budget management, business savviness, leadership, program management methodology, project reporting, statement of work creation, technical credibility. Preferred: Agile decision making, agility jumps, analytics insights, continuous improvement, organizational project management, PMO tools, tactical planning. Pay Transparency Base salary range: $150,000.00 – $258,750.00. Benefits Vacation: 120 hours per calendar year. Sick time: 40 hours per year (48 in Colorado, 56 in Washington). Holiday pay including floating holidays: 13 days per year. Work, personal and family time: up to 40 hours per year. Parental leave: 480 hours within one year of birth/adoption/foster care. Bereavement leave: 240 hours for immediate family, 40 hours for extended family. Caregiver leave: 80 hours in a 52‑week rolling period. Volunteer leave: 32 hours per year.
