Graduate Intern, Corporate SMS and IEP (Fall 2026)

How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities) The Corporate Safety Management System and Internal Evaluation Program teams are seeking three (3) Graduate Interns. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to learn from a team with diverse backgrounds through mentorship, professional development, knowledge sharing, and exposure to industry best practices. Additionally, interns will apply academic concepts in real-world settings including, statistical analysis, process flow analysis, modeling, and database management. Graduate Interns will be aligned with one or more of the following areas: Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Assist with reviewing FAA response letters. Work with various divisions to ensure corrective actions are provided and implemented. Log FAA Safety Assurance letters into Quality Assurance database (QualityNet). Provide continuous improvement ideas for processing and tracking FAA letters. Corporate Compliance Quality (CCQ) - Internal Evaluation Programs (IEP) Assist with internal evaluations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Safety Management System (SMS) Fulfill logistical requirements for SMS or ASAP related activities, which include but are not limited to: scheduling meetings or in-person training, coordinating with speakers and attendees, taking and publishing meeting notes, and conducting post-meeting follow‑up actions. Support development and maintenance of reporting & presentation materials, including but not limited to: Monthly Performance Reviews, Delta Safety Assurance Group, Safety Round Tables, and Integrated Safety Round Tables. Support ongoing continuous improvement initiatives across the enterprise, including but not limited to data analytics, process development and SRM activity. All three (3) Graduate Interns will also have the opportunity to collaborate with other Graduate Interns on a Phase 2 Capstone Project, including: Validating FAA and QA aspects and determining whether the existing SRM equation can be applied. Maintaining SRM dashboard. Testing the current developed equation against the new system to confirm it functions as intended. Validating the new system structure (ensuring each step in the system is executed properly, POCs are up to date, etc). Performing data mining and trend analysis across safety programs. Helping develop dashboards and visualizations for safety performance. Creating executive safety summaries. What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications) Must be enrolled as a current, active student in an accredited master’s degree program at a college and/or university. Must be willing to work a full‑time schedule for the full duration of the internship, which may last up to 12 months or longer. Must be able to work onsite in our Atlanta, GA office for the duration of the internship. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Detail‑oriented and able to perform effectively under pressure. Eagerness to accept responsibility and contribute to value‑added projects. Flexibility in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment. Professional demeanor when interacting with all levels of the organization. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Practices safety‑conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures. Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data. Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles. Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency. Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
