Human Resources Generalist Blue Bell Creameries 8201 E Highway 51, Broken Arrow, OK 74014 Job details Job type Full-time Benefits Pulled from the full job description Parental leave 401(k) Health insurance Retirement plan 401(k) matching Paid time off Employee discount Full job description Role Summary The Human Resources Generalist provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department by maintaining employee records, assisting with recruiting and onboarding, supporting payroll and benefits administration, and responding to routine employee inquiries while helping ensure compliance with company policies and employment regulations. Key Responsibilities Assist with day-to-day HR operations, including employee file maintenance, document management, and data entry in HR systems. Support the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening applications, scheduling interviews, and coordinating candidate communications. Coordinate onboarding activities for new hires, including preparing orientation materials, collecting required documentation, and assisting with new hire setup. Maintain accurate employee records related to attendance, leave, benefits, training, and other personnel actions while protecting confidentiality. Assist with payroll and benefits administration by gathering and verifying data, processing routine changes, and responding to employee questions. Prepare reports, letters, forms, and other HR correspondence as requested. Provide front-line customer service to employees and applicants regarding HR policies, procedures, and general employment information. Support compliance efforts by helping maintain required records and assisting with audits, policy acknowledgments, and training documentation. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent written and oral communication skills: The ability to express and convey ideas clearly. Excellent organization skills: The ability to develop systems and processes that allow you to complete multiple tasks correctly and in a timely manner. Time management skills: The ability to allocate your time to complete tasks within established deadlines. Analytical skills: The ability to interpret data and use it to solve problems and gain new insights. Computer literacy, and proficiency in commonly used Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Discretion and confidentiality: The ability to handle sensitive employee and company information with professionalism and sound judgment. Qualifications Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered. 7+ years of administrative, office support, or human resources experience preferred. Experience with HRIS systems, payroll systems, applicant tracking systems, or employee records management is a plus. Certification such as SHRM-CP, a PHR, or a Human Resources certificate is advantageous but not required. Physical Requirements Mobility: Requires frequent walking, sitting and standing throughout the shift. Manual Dexterity: Must be able to perform repetitive motions with hands and fingers. Speaking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to clients or the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. Visual acuity both near and far: Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (i.e., working with small objects or reading small print), including use of computers, as well as clarity of vision at 20 feet or more- this is not just the ability to see a person or object, but the ability to recognize features as well. Hearing: The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (e.g., machinery alarms, medical codes or alarms). Environmental Conditions: Ability to work in various weather conditions, including heat and cold. Lifting and Carrying: Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds. Work Environment This position typically operates in a professional office environment Regular use of computers, phones, printers, and other standard office equipment. Requires occasional interaction with employees throughout the facility. Work environment subject to change based on duties performed.
