We're looking for experienced baristas with a deep interest in both coffee and people to join our team at The Local.
The Local features a large café/bar that caters to international guests as well as the LIC neighborhood. We are big fans of cross training so there may be an opportunity down the line for reception or bartending work. We're looking for bright, passionate, experienced baristas. The position will entail coffee/espresso/tea making as well as light food preparation. You'll be working primarily on your own during a shift, so self-motivation and trustworthiness are a must. A large part of the job is interacting with guests, conveying excitement about the food and drink but also NYC generally. You'll play an important role in our front of house team representing The Local and setting the mood for guests. In addition to preparing beverages and serving guests, the barista will be responsible for opening, closing, keeping the café and bar area clean, and prepping items for service.
