Davis Behavioral Health (DBH) is seeking a full-time Case Management Program Supervisor to join the Children, Youth & Families outpatient mental health team. The Children, Youth & Families Supervisor is a bachelor's level mental health professional who provides targeted case management, behavior management, and skills development services to children and their families. The case manager assists clients in effectively utilizing available community resources. Case management can be provided in the home, office, school, and community settings. 

The supervisor provides oversight of the program and employees and maintains timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with agency and regulatory standards.

DBH is seeking a natural leader for this position to manage the program and to lead, mentor, and inspire the team.

Essential Job Functions

• Conduct in home needs and strengths assessments.
• Develop individualized service plans consisting of mutually agreed upon goals and objectives and update as required.
• Link families with systems of care that provide them with resources, services, and opportunities to improve their quality of life.
• Advocate for individuals and families who need assistance while encountering barriers in connecting with systems of care.
• Provide individual, family, and group skills using evidence-based interventions to decrease symptoms and improve functioning. This is done in conjunction with the assigned mental health therapist or prescriber.
• Assist families in gathering natural supports and resources to become independent of agencies.
• Maintain clinical documentation as required by agency standards.
• Coordinate with other staff and community agencies as needed to provide effective care.
• Participate in weekly staff meetings and regularly scheduled supervision.
• Must meet agency productivity standard.
• Other duties and responsibilities and needed and assigned.

Position-specific Job Functions

• Ensure services support client stability, recovery, and functioning in the community.
• Partner with Utah State Hospital to coordinate admission and discharges while monitoring client progress during hospitalization.
• Monitor program finances, including budget utilization and expenditure reports.
• Complete agency and state reporting by required deadlines.
• Participate in meetings with community partners when needed.
• Monitor staff time and attendance and approve employee timecards.
• Attend regular supervisor required meetings.
• Coordinate and participate with Program Director and Human Resources on Personnel Actions and any disciplinary processes.
• Identify, provide and coordinate training as needed.
• Ensure staff are meeting the agency productivity and documentation standards, managing caseloads effectively, maintaining ethical and professional behavior, in compliance with state and agency guidelines, providing evidenced based treatment and utilizing best practice guidelines.
• Other duties and responsibilities and needed and assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in social work or related field is required.

Certification/Licensure

• Active licensure as a Social Service Worker (SSW) in good standing in the State of Utah required.

Experience

Required

• 2+ years of mental health case management experience is required.

Preferred

• Experience working with children and families.
• Supervisory or administrative experience is preferred.

Qualifications/Skills/Abilities

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Demonstrates the skills necessary to motivate and engage individuals.
• Good organizational and practice management skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff and community agencies.
• Spanish-speaking is highly desirable.

The selected candidate must successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screening. DBH will not hire individuals currently using illegal drugs or abusing alcohol; therefore, making employment at DBH conditional upon successfully passing pre-employment drug screening by providing a valid sample. Candidates who are offered employment are required to report for a drug screen at an Intermountain WorkMed location within 24 hours of being requested to do so by the DBH Human Resources Department.

Davis Behavioral Health works with Federal grants and must comply with the Federal drug laws, including no use of medical marijuana.

Physical Demands

The employee must be able to drive and must have a valid driver's license with clean driving record to be covered by DBH insurance. This position operates in a combination of office-based and community-based settings. Services may be delivered in outpatient clinics, client homes, schools, and other community locations as clinically indicated. This role requires flexibility in scheduling to meet client and program needs and may include travel within the county for outreach and community-based service delivery. It may require the use of a personal vehicle; mileage reimbursement is provided in accordance with organizational policies.​

Work Environment

This role requires flexibility in scheduling to meet client and program needs and may include travel within and outside the county for various meetings. It may require the use of a personal vehicle; mileage reimbursement is provided in accordance with organizational policies.​

Employment Schedule

Work schedules at DBH are established to meet the needs of our clients and the agency. Program Supervisors, with the approval of Program Directors, determine the specific schedules for their assigned departments and have the authority to ask employees to work a different shift and/or in a different location on a short-term or permanent basis to meet the departments' needs. 

The proposed schedule for this position is below:

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
• Wednesday: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm

The proposed schedule is approximate and can change depending on client and agency needs.

Full-time employees are required to work 40 hours per week. Part-time employees must work less than 30 hours per week

Location

The office for the Case Management Program Supervisor office is located on the DBH Main Street Clinic is located at 934 S Main St, Layton, UT 84041. Work locations include but are not limited to clients' homes, clients family member homes, DBH offices, and other locations to help the clients meet their needs.

This position is classified as full-time, exempt, with a 40-hour per week schedule.

The proposed schedule for this position is Monday through Friday during regular business hours. This position does require flexibility to meet client and program needs, including attending commitment hearings, staff meeting, and other tasks related to completing essential job functions.

Introductory Period

All new employees at DBH have a 6-month introductory period to assess whether they can perform the essential functions of the job at the expected level, within the specified timeframes, and are a good fit for the job.
