Research Project ManagerThis role will manage a portfolio of strategic research partnerships designed to generate real-world evidence across health domains and diverse populations. You will own research projects from early feasibility and scoping through partner coordination, launch, data collection, reporting, and closeout. Working across Clinical Outcomes, Health Science, Data Science, Engineering, Product, Commercial, Legal, and Regulatory teams, you will turn research questions into structured and actionable study plans. You will build trusted relationships with academic, healthcare, CRO, and commercial partners while coordinating complex project requirements. The role combines project management, operational execution, risk management, documentation, and cross-functional communication in a fast-moving research environment. You will also help establish scalable processes that enable high-quality research to be delivered efficiently and consistently. This is a remote U.S. position, with a slight preference for candidates based on the East Coast.AccountabilitiesOwn a portfolio of commercial, academic, and member-based research studies from feasibility and initial scoping through execution, reporting, and closeout.Coordinate research projects across key stages including partner alignment, launch, data collection, analysis readiness, evidence generation, and final deliverables.Build and maintain strong working relationships with academic institutions, healthcare organizations, CROs, commercial partners, and other strategic collaborators.Translate research questions into clear study plans, operational requirements, milestones, documented decisions, and evidence deliverables in collaboration with subject-matter experts.Establish repeatable workflows, processes, and documentation that support high-quality research at scale and enable efficient project execution.Coordinate project budgets, contracts, partner responsibilities, data-transfer requirements, privacy and consent considerations, and timelines.Monitor project progress, proactively identify risks and dependencies, and communicate issues, tradeoffs, and recommended actions clearly to internal and external stakeholders.Facilitate effective coordination across Clinical Outcomes, Health Science, Data Science, Engineering, Product, Commercial, Legal, Regulatory, and other relevant teams.Support research data flows and operational readiness for analysis, ensuring project requirements and documentation are clearly defined and maintained.Contribute to evidence dissemination through research reports, publications, abstracts, partner deliverables, clinical education, and commercial or regulatory materials as appropriate.Drive continuous improvement in research operations by identifying opportunities to strengthen project execution, documentation, and collaboration.Requirements3+ years of experience managing human research, clinical research, health outcomes, real-world evidence, healthcare programs, or comparable partner research initiatives.Demonstrated experience independently managing external academic, commercial, clinical, CRO, and/or healthcare partnerships.Proven ability to manage research or outcomes-focused projects from feasibility and planning through execution, reporting, and closeout.Strong project management skills, including planning, documentation, milestone tracking, risk management, issue resolution, and stakeholder coordination.Excellent cross-functional communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical, clinical, commercial, legal, regulatory, and external stakeholders.Familiarity with research data flows, participant privacy and consent requirements, and data-quality review processes.Experience with tools such as spreadsheets, project trackers, survey platforms, EHRs, EDC, CTMS, eTMF, or comparable research and project-management systems.Human-subjects research and GCP/CITI training is preferred, or willingness to complete required training.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a dynamic environment.Ability to identify risks early, communicate tradeoffs clearly, and drive projects forward with a high degree of ownership.Comfortable working independently in a remote environment while maintaining strong collaboration across distributed teams.Candidates based on the U.S. East Coast are slightly preferred.BenefitsRemote work within the United States.Access to offices in San Francisco, San Diego, and Los Angeles for employees who prefer hybrid or office-based settings.Informal opportunities for employees in other major U.S. cities to gather at local coworking locations.Opportunity to manage strategic research projects generating real-world evidence across health domains and populations.Cross-functional exposure to Clinical Outcomes, Health Science, Data Science, Engineering, Product, Commercial, Legal, and Regulatory teams.Opportunity to work with academic, healthcare, CRO, and commercial research partners.Opportunity to contribute to research publications, evidence dissemination, and clinical, commercial, or regulatory deliverables.
