Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a Full-time Cook for the Food Service Department. Shift: Full-time 40 hours a week, 8-hour rotating shifts (shifts can vary from 4 a.m. to 8 p.m.). Up to $2,000 sign‑on bonus for qualified candidates. Responsibilities Prepares all hot foods for patient trayline, café, and functions including entrees, vegetables, starches, and bakery items. PACE specific incumbents for this position require a minimum of one year of experience working with the frail or elderly population. Licensure: Food Handlers certification (as required by local Health Department). Food Handler certification required upon hire for all locations for SLC positions. Experience in lieu of degree/diploma will be accepted. The Food Handler Certification is only required in the following facilities: SNGH, SLH, SOH, SCH and SWRMC.
