Role Description The Senior Tax Accountant is a key member of our client service team, helping business owners and individuals navigate financial decisions with confidence. This full-time position in Ashland, Ohio combines accounting, tax, and advisory responsibilities to support clients throughout the year. The role includes providing bookkeeping and accounting services, preparing financial statements, and preparing corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns. Beyond compliance work, the Senior Tax Accountant develops trusted relationships with clients, offers proactive financial and tax guidance, identifies opportunities for improvement, and helps clients achieve their personal and business goals. Successful candidates are organized, client-focused professionals who enjoy solving problems, communicating complex concepts in a practical way, and partnering with clients to create long-term value. Qualifications Strong tax expertise, including Tax Compliance, Tax Preparation, and general Tax knowledge. Proficiency in Accounting principles and experience preparing and reviewing Financial Statements. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or equivalent credential strongly preferred. Minimum of five years of experience in public accounting with a strong emphasis on tax services including preparation of corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns. Comfort with tax and accounting software, spreadsheet tools, and electronic workpaper systems. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Clear, professional communication skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues and clients. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; advanced tax coursework is a plus. Ability to work on-site in Ashland County, OH, and manage workload during peak tax periods.
