School Occupational Therapist | Mesilla Park, New Mexico

Make a difference supporting student success in a dynamic contract opportunity as an Occupational Therapist (OT) near the scenic Mesilla Park region. This assignment is ideal for OTs looking to work a full school year, collaborating with a long-time educational partner. The area's close proximity to White Sands National Park and El Paso, TX makes it a wonderful part of southern New Mexico to work and explore.

In this onsite role, you'll provide vital OT services to a diverse caseload spanning all age groups across multiple schools. Candidates must be able to travel between locations and feel confident supervising Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs). Both OTs and COTAs will be considered, but OTs must be willing and eligible to supervise.

Key Qualifications:

• Active New Mexico (NMRLD) OT licensure required
• Valid NMPED certification (quick to obtain if you start early)
• Willingness to travel between several schools within the district
• Experience across multiple age ranges is preferred
• Ability to supervise COTA(s) is essential
• Open to both OTs and COTAs (with OTs able to supervise)

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality OT services to students with varied needs
• Collaborate with teachers and multidisciplinary school teams
• Document evaluations, treatment plans, and progress
• Supervise COTA(s) to ensure compliant and effective interventions
• Adapt sessions for students in different educational environments
