Customs Brokerage Manager

I'm partnering with one of the world's leading global logistics and freight forwarding providers to recruit a Customs Brokerage Manager for their Cleveland operation. The Role As Customs Brokerage Manager , you'll be responsible for leading a team of six Customs Brokerage professionals, ensuring the department delivers exceptional service while maintaining the highest standards of compliance. This is a highly visible position where you'll work closely with customers, support your team through complex situations, oversee compliance and auditing activities, and help drive continuous improvement across the operation. You'll be trusted to develop your team, strengthen customer relationships, and ensure the brokerage operation runs efficiently while meeting all regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Lead, coach and develop a team of six Customs Brokerage professionals. Act as the primary escalation point for customers, ensuring issues are resolved professionally and efficiently. Oversee daily Customs Brokerage operations, ensuring timely and compliant customs clearance. Monitor departmental performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Conduct audits to ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and internal procedures. Deliver training, mentoring and ongoing development for the team. Build strong relationships with customers, internal stakeholders and government agencies. Ensure all documentation is accurate and completed within required timelines. Promote a collaborative, customer-focused culture across the department. What We're Looking For Previous experience managing or supervising a Customs Brokerage team. Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, compliance and brokerage operations. Experience handling customer escalations and building long-term client relationships. A proactive leader who enjoys developing people and improving processes. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
