Job Summary
Under the support of the Executive Director of Human Resources, the Director of Organizational Development leads the College's strategy for leadership development, succession planning, institutional training implementation, and organizational development initiatives that support growth and institutional effectiveness. In-person work on campus is an essential function of this position.
Essential Functions
Develop, coordinate, and facilitate comprehensive leadership and succession development programs for administrators, managers, supervisors, faculty, and staff, to strengthen organizational effectiveness, institutional continuity, accountability, and strategic decision-making.
Serve as the College's lead trainer and learning facilitator for in-house subject matter experts supporting Human Resources software implementations, compliance initiatives, and process improvements. Conduct training and organizational learning needs assessments with College leadership to identify development priorities, skill gaps, implementation barriers, and training solutions. Establish curriculum, facilitation, and evaluation standards for College training programs to ensure learning outcomes are consistent, measurable, and audience-appropriate. Oversee college-wide employee professional development and organizational learning programs that support workplace effectiveness, communication, customer service, team performance, employee engagement, and continuous improvement. Responsible for departmental budget. Define training resource needs and recommend budget priorities. Oversight of New Employee Orientation to ensure employees receive consistent onboarding and instruction regarding the College's mission, culture, service expectations, compliance requirements, employment standards, and institutional resources. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
1. Master's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Curriculum and Instruction, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in organizational development, professional development, curriculum design, training implementation, leadership development, educational leadership, or a closely related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. NOTE: A copy of the transcript reflecting this required education MUST be submitted for consideration and reflect completed coursework and degrees conferred. The candidate must be fully qualified for the position at the time of application. 2. Experience must include verifiable teaching, technology training, facilitation, or professional development delivery. 3. Experience must include curriculum design, training program development, professional development planning, or implementation of structured employee learning programs. 4. Experience leading professional development for supervisors (or other professional employee groups). 5. Experience must include supporting the implementation of new HR programs, systems, software, procedures, initiatives, or organizational change efforts.
6. Experience in higher education, public education, public sector administration, or a similarly complex organization. 7. Knowledge of leadership development, succession planning, organizational behavior, curriculum design, instructional delivery, professional development, and change implementation. 8. Ability to lead training and development programs for all personnel with credibility, clarity, and sound professional judgment. 9. Ability to develop train-the-trainer models, establishing standards, assessing organizational learning needs, and translating institutional priorities into practical development strategies. 10. Ability to supervise assigned staff, direct trainers and facilitators, manage multiple institutional training priorities, reduce duplication of training efforts, and maintain effective working relationships across College departments. 11. Ability to communicate effectively through facilitation, consultation, presentation, written communication, and executive-level discussion. Special Conditions:
