Now Hiring: Surgery Scheduler (Onsite)

Location: Live Oak, TX 78233, will also need to cover New Braunfels clinic one Tuesday per week
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Pay Range: $17.00 - $20.00/hour + Full-Time Benefits
Employment Type: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire through Medix Staffing
Start Date: ASAP (Once Compliance is Cleared, Background Check, Drug Screen, High School Diploma/GED, Employment Verification

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Surgery Scheduler to support a busy specialty practice in Live Oak, TX. This role is responsible for coordinating surgical procedures, submitting prior auths, pre-certifications, verifying insurance, managing patient scheduling, obtaining clearances, and ensuring all required documentation is completed prior to surgery.

You will work closely with providers, hospitals, surgery centers, patients, and clinical teams to ensure a seamless scheduling experience and excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Schedule vascular and endovascular surgical procedures, office-based interventions, and follow-up appointments
• Coordinate with hospitals, surgery centers, physicians, and clinical staff to secure procedure dates and times
• Verify patient demographics, insurance, referrals, and authorizations prior to procedures
• Obtain and track medical clearances, labs, imaging, and pre-operative requirements
• Communicate surgery details, preparation instructions, and appointment information to patients and families
• Maintain accurate scheduling records and update patient information in Athena EMR
• Serve as a liaison between patients, providers, and facility staff to ensure smooth coordination of care
• Manage schedule changes, cancellations, and urgent add-on cases as needed
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards
