Sr. Industrial Designer

Job Overview Position: Senior Industrial Designer Department: Industrial Design – Home & Outdoor Work Location: New York, NY (Hybrid – 3 days onsite, 2 days remote) What You Will Be Doing Create intuitive, user‑centered design solutions for OXO, Hydro Flask, and Osprey. Translate each brand’s design ethos into compelling, on‑brand product solutions. Apply consumer insights and cross‑functional guidance to make strategic design decisions. Develop and deliver design solutions through critical gate meetings with engineering, marketing, and senior leadership. Assess user experience, ergonomics, and interaction throughout the product lifecycle. Define color solutions aligned with business goals and brand identity. Design within manufacturing constraints, collaborating with engineering and business units from concept to commercialization. Lead design activities, manage project timelines, and organize tasks around project goals. Implement and maintain visual brand language across Hydro Flask and OXO. Mentor junior designers, guide prototype testing, and present work to cross‑functional teams confidently. Monitor and evaluate team development, modeling high professional and creative standards. Skills Needed Strong aesthetic sense demonstrated through portfolio and presentations. Understanding of brand strategy in industrial design and ability to articulate design intent (color, aesthetics). Experience presenting work to senior leadership and communicating effectively across functions. Collaborative and independent work style. Proficiency in SolidWorks, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), KeyShot, and PowerPoint. Project management experience using tools such as Basecamp or Smartsheet. Travel domestic up to 10% as needed. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in industrial design. Five years of industrial product design and consumer product development experience. Proven track record of leading products from concept through commercialization. Strong knowledge of injection molding and plastics manufacturing processes. Sample portfolio showcasing primary designer work on consumer products. Authorized to work full‑time in the United States. Preferred Qualifications Design consultancy experience.
