Student Support Services Assistant Program Manager - 1.0FTE - 260/8

This position is needed as part of the continued improvement and development of the Division of Student Support Services. This person will manage projects that are cross-departmental and designed to ensure compliance with federal, state and district policies and procedures. Work streams will include but not be limited to such projects as evaluation of instructional and assessment activities and practices across Student Support Services and in partnership with other departments within Teacher and Learning and across the District. Project work in support of the ongoing restructuring and coordination of services across multiple Central departments require a person able to deliver personalized support and own a skillset targeting the development of various multi-dimensional projects designed with understanding of the culture and systemic operational qualities of schools. This position is open until filled with the first round of application reviews beginning on Monday, August 31, 2026. 60% Project Design and Coordination Manages projects to develop new and/or enhance key school service and instruction initiatives. Facilitates coordination and communication of related efforts to ensure full acceptance and efficacy of implemented solutions to school level and central office needs. Plans and directs all project activities from project concept through implementation. Develops and manages to project schedules, resource plans, scope, budget, risk and communication plans with appropriate input from business and technical staff. Coordinates as appropriate with other functional groups and departments such as Department of Race and Equity Advancement, Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment and Technology Services. Ensures that project and project-inherent deliverables follow district initiatives and established standards. Facilitates agreement on deliverable guidance format, guidance content and professional development needs with appropriate stakeholders, works with District department managers to incorporate new deliverables and update guidance and school professional development as appropriate. Helps ensures that guidance and procedural documents are established to ensure sustainability of projects into the future. 25% Ensure Equitable Access and Barrier Free Delivery of High-Quality Instruction and Support Services Assists department managers and directors across Student Support Services in identifying, establishing and implementing goals, objectives, and coordinated delivery of support to schools for the District's student services programs; Works with multiple departments to ensure compliance with federal, state and district policies and procedures in relation to the development and delivery of services and supports to schools, families and students. Monitors the development of services and support ensuring equitable and barrier free access to historically underserved populations including children served in Special Education, children within low income families, and including but not limited to English Language Learners and historically underserved children of color. Develops and facilitates services in conjunction with program manager, principals, community partnerships, and other programs to meet tiered support needs of students. Promotes and implements evidence-based school practices relevant to an urban setting with a culturally diverse community, ensuring development and support of systems designed to elevate high quality instruction for all students. 10% Community and Stakeholder Engagement Assists program managers and directors in collaborating with community and district partners including the City of Seattle, agencies, hospitals and district offices, as well as community-based groups interested in providing whole child supports to students to ensure the efficient delivery of instruction and services. 5% Additional Functions Attends or participates in all required team and committee meetings and other activities deemed necessary by the District or supervisor, in order to accomplish the objectives of the position and for professional achievement; Participates in ongoing training to enhance professional skills. Years of Relevant Experience 5 or more years in central and/or school based leadership (coaching, teacher leader, building leader, central leader, etc. ) Preferred Certifications & Licenses Washington State Administrative Credential Clearances Criminal Justice fingerprint and background check.
