About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Mother/Baby Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM), every other weekend Experience: Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience in Mother/Baby nursing License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, NRP (Advanced), STABLE Must-Have: - Two (2) years of acute care RN experience - Epic experience Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. The RN promotes his or her own development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education supported by a Practice Governance framework. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. The RN is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and mentoring or precepting staff. The RN performs assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition. The RN demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. The RN initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care, reviewing and revising it as indicated. The RN collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services. The RN utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization, patient, and family. The RN monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. The RN facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs. The RN participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts and implements practice changes. The RN complies with regulatory standards and participates in the Practice Governance model. The RN delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. The RN functions as a mentor or preceptor. The RN demonstrates, encourages, and facilitates teamwork while identifying and appropriately communicating opportunities for improvement.
