Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Functional Analyst Full-Time | Remote / Houston, TX

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced D365 F&O Functional Analyst to serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams. You'll configure, support, and optimize Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations implementations — translating complex business processes into scalable, well-documented platform solutions across finance, supply chain, and operations modules.

What You'll Do

• Gather and document business requirements, translating them into functional design specifications for D365 F&O
• Configure and support core modules including General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Fixed Assets, Budgeting, Procurement, and Inventory Management
• Participate in full-cycle implementations — from fit-gap analysis and solution design through UAT, go-live, and hypercare
• Develop and maintain functional documentation including process flows, BRDs, FDDs, and test scripts
• Facilitate UAT sessions, support end-user training, and drive adoption
• Collaborate with developers to translate functional requirements into technical specifications
• Support month-end close processes and troubleshoot system issues in a timely manner
• Stay current on D365 F&O release waves and assess impact of new features on existing configurations

What You Bring

• 3+ years of hands-on D365 F&O (or AX 2012) functional experience
• Deep knowledge of at least two core modules — Finance, Supply Chain, or Project Operations
• Experience with full-cycle implementations using Sure Step, Agile, or hybrid methodologies
• Proficiency with LCS (Lifecycle Services), Power Platform integrations, and data migration tools
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to document and communicate complex processes clearly
• MB-300 and/or MB-310 certification preferred

Nice to Have

• Experience in project-based businesses, professional services, or defense/government contracting
• Familiarity with ISV solutions (Dynaway, Binary Stream, Aderant, etc.)
• Exposure to dual-write, Power BI embedded reporting, or Azure Data Lake integration
• Prior MSP, VAR, or consulting firm background
