Summary of Position
At MJ Care, our mission is simple: support students so they can fully access their education and thrive in the school environment. As a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist, you'll play an active, hands-on role in supporting students throughout their school day. You'll provide direct services aligned with students' IEPs or other support plans, while working closely with teachers, administrators, and fellow service providers to ensure each student receives the support they need to succeed. This role is embedded within the rhythm of a school-balancing direct student interaction, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and consistent documentation to support student progress and compliance. You'll participate in team meetings, contribute to planning and progress discussions, and adapt your approach based on individual student needs and the evolving priorities of the school environment. The goal is to support students' communication skills across educational settings so they can more fully participate academically, socially, and functionally throughout the school day. At MJ Care, you're not stepping into this work alone. You'll be supported by a team that understands school-based services, values clear communication, and prioritizes doing right by both clinicians and the students they serve. We focus on building strong relationships-with our associates and our school partners-so you can focus on what matters most: making a meaningful impact in students' day-to-day lives. Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct services to students in alignment with IEP and other individualized support plans
- Support students with communication, language, articulation, fluency, voice, and other needs
- Conduct evaluations, re-evaluations, screenings, and progress monitoring as needed
- Deliver services in a variety of settings (e.g., classroom, small group, one-on-one)
- Work with teachers, administrators, and related service providers to support student success
- Participate in and contribute to IEP meetings, team meetings, and progress discussions
- Monitor student progress and adjust services as needed to support outcomes
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant service documentation and records
- Manage caseload responsibilities, including scheduling and service tracking
- Communicate effectively with school staff and, when appropriate, families
- Support a positive, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment
- Follow all district policies, procedures, and school expectations
- Ensure compliance with applicable state, federal, and professional standards
- Adapt to changes in student needs, schedules, and school priorities throughout the year
Minimum Qualifications

- Current Wisconsin DPI Speech and Language Pathology License (1820 Early Childhood-Adolescence) with one of the following:
- Tier I 1-Year License with Stipulations

- CF-SLP (Clinical Fellow)
- CCC-SLP (Certificate of Clinical Competence)
- Individual NPI number (required for Medicaid billing beginning in the 2026-2027 school year)
- Maintenance of all licenses and certifications in good standing throughout employment
- Ability to meet all district and state onboarding requirements, including background checks
- Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with IEPs, evaluations, service documentation, and progress monitoring preferred
- Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary teams
- New graduates and Clinical Fellows are encouraged to apply!
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams
- Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with students, staff, and families
- Organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly with scheduling and documentation
- Ability to manage a caseload and adapt to changing priorities in a school environment
- Comfort with basic technology for documentation, communication, and service tracking
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to respond to student needs in real time
