Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Summary:
Providing specialized critical care in a Level I Trauma Center, the ICU RN will deliver advanced nurse interventions to critically ill patients in a fast-paced environment. The role demands a highly skilled professional dedicated to patient safety, comfort, and recovery.

Responsibilities:

• Administer advanced cardiac and respiratory care, including intubation, extubation, and ventilator management.
• Perform critical procedures such as chest tube placement, central line insertion, A-line placement, and Foley catheterization.
• Monitor patient conditions continuously using GE Carescape bedside monitors and GE ventilators to identify changes requiring immediate attention.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Document patient care accurately within the Cerner PowerChart system.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, including adherence to unit-specific guidelines and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid nursing license and current ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Demonstrate at least 2+ years of recent ICU experience, preferably in a Level I or II Trauma Center.
• Possess trauma and surgical ICU expertise with proficiency in critical procedures such as proning and hypertonic medication administration.
• Exhibit strong teamwork skills, flexibility, and a positive attitude to thrive in a demanding environment.
• Be willing to work 13-week travel assignments, including weekend shifts, with availability to float to other ICUs or step-down units.
