About the Opportunity A growing commercial painting contractor in the Charlotte market is expanding and is seeking a strong Assistant Project Manager . This hire will step into an active backlog, support newly awarded work, and play a key role in client management and project delivery. This role is ideal for someone who is polished, relationship-focused, and experienced managing large commercial projects in the paint sector.

What You'll Do
- Oversee new construction projects from award through closeout
- Regularly meet with clients, visit active jobsites, and maintain strong customer relationships
- Familiarity with Buzzbid Estimating Software
- Lead negotiations on change orders and resolve A/B-level project issues
- Collaborate with internal APMs/PMs, who handle much of the internal operational workload
- Ensure project schedules, budget goals, and quality standards are met
- Represent the company professionally with owners, GCs, and project partners
- Experience in commercial painting project management or other construction sector experience
- Strong communicator with a customer-first mindset
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize field presence
- Capable of owning relationship management more than pure back-office operations
- Driven, polished, and comfortable handling client-facing responsibilities
