Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct in-depth mental health assessments of elderly clients to identify individual care requirements and develop appropriate treatment plans.

• Facilitate both individual and group counseling sessions, tailored to help clients navigate the emotional complexities related to aging, such as loss, life transitions, and chronic health issues.

• Provide grief and loss counseling, supporting clients and their families through the difficult processes associated with end-of-life care.
\n
• Educate clients, families, and staff on best practices to promote mental health, enhance quality of life, and facilitate healthy coping strategies.

• Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions, progress, and treatment strategies within our secure electronic health record (EHR) system.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care and support for each client’s unique needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position primarily involves working with seniors, including those dealing with grief and loss, navigating significant life transitions, and managing age-related psychological challenges. The counselor will focus on enhancing the emotional well-being of older adults, creating a safe and supportive environment for open dialogue and healing.

Qualifications\n

• Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.

• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) designation in Washington State.

• A minimum of 2 years of recent experience providing mental health support specifically to geriatric clients.

Preferred Experience\n

• Demonstrated expertise in addiction counseling, particularly as it pertains to senior clients.

• Experience with evidence-based therapeutic modalities suitable for older adults, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Compensation and Benefits\n
