Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Schedule

3 shifts of 12 hours per week with 2 on-call shifts every 4 weeks.

Requirements

• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Stroke Certification (must be AHA or RQI)
• Two years of acute hospital experience as a registered nurse
• One year of Emergency Department experience as a registered nurse

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and identify urgent or emergent care priorities.
• Provide high-quality compassionate care to patients and families.
• Utilize various procedures and interventions for life-threatening and routine emergency situations.
• Develop rapport with patients and families, addressing comfort needs and providing updates.
• Conduct assessments and document deviations from norms while identifying necessary interventions.
• Encourage teamwork and teach others as appropriate.
• Prepare patients and families for diagnostic procedures and ensure continuity of care post-emergency.
• Maintain a focus on the patient's condition throughout their visit.
