HEAVY EQUIPMENT MECHANIC

Heavy Equipment Mechanic Salary: $5,608.00 – $6,723.00 per month. Location: San Joaquin County (Headquartered in Mather, Sacramento County). Working Conditions Position requires participation in the DMV Pull Program and a valid California Commercial Driver’s License (Class B) with Tank and Air Brake endorsements. The Driver’s License must be maintained in good standing for continued employment. Employee is expected to work overtime as needed. Responsibilities Construct, repair, and maintain automotive and heavy maintenance and construction equipment. Provide instruction, lead, or direct the work of apprentices, Service Assistants, or other employees as needed. Assist in related tasks as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Valid California Commercial Driver’s License (Class B) with Tank and Air Brake endorsements, obtained within six months of appointment. Willingness to work overtime. Desirable Qualifications ASE Certification or equivalent for: Vehicle Brakes, Commercial Air Brake Systems, Diagnostics, Hydraulic Pumps/Systems, Electrical Systems. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Diesel Motor Repair and Heavy Diesel Equipment Repair, including Fire Apparatus Repair. Experience with tire dismount and install, and holding a CA Commercial A or B License with Tanker and Air Brake endorsement.
