Job Description Job Description Work Location: A.B.L.E. House 168 Esat 107th street New York, N.Y. 10029 Division/Department: A.B.L.E. House Reports to: Program Director Full-time Days: (Mon-Fri) Hours: 35 hrs Union: Essential Duties and Responsibilities Contributes to the development of the ethical framework for delivery of recovery services and conducts all peer advocacy activities within this framework. Contributes to the development of resources for long-term supports and services. Engages with assigned program clients; reviews a recovery plan with each client/ Engages in problem-solving activities with each client to improve daily living skills Acts as a role model for effective health and recovery maintenance activities; promotes abstinence from AOD/SUD. Provides guidance, recovery-focused peer support services. Engages in recovery support activities with clients. Escorts clients to long-term services and support appointments based on participants’ preferences. Conducts outreach activities. Organizes and participates in community-based recovery support activities and events. Delivers face-to-face services. Facilitates weekly Peer-to-Peer recovery support groups. Maintains weekly Peer Advocate contact log. Conducts educational presentations for providers of local recovery support services. Submit the HRA 2010e for clients Education and/or Work Experience Requirements High School Diploma or GED Ability to deliver culturally competent services to diverse client populations in urban settings. Familiarity with the ethical framework for recovery services and the Recovery Self-Assessment. A minimum of six months of community-based recovery with at least six consecutive months of abstinence at the time of enrollment. Good interpersonal skills, enthusiastic about recovery. Must be able to work a flexible schedule. Must possess Certification Recovery Peer Advocate from NYCA or NYCB. #J-18808-Ljbffr Emma L Bowen Community Service Center
