Non-Tenure Track Position: Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychology

Position Summary Two full‑time non‑tenure‑track Clinical Faculty positions at the Department of Psychological Science, Loyola Marymount University. These positions are open to candidates with extensive teaching experience and professional or community expertise. Start Date: August152026. Initial appointment term: up to two years. Continuation beyond the initial term will be determined based on institutional needs and review processes. Full‑time, 9‑month academic appointment (August–May) with annual salary paid over 12 consecutive months for continuous benefits coverage. Scope of Work Teach 3 courses in the fall semester and 3 courses in the spring semester. Provide academic advising for major students. Serve on departmental service committees. Qualifications Doctorate in Psychology or a closely related field, completed at the time of application. Instructor of record experience for at least one course, taught in person at an accredited college or university. Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching. Ability to teach interactive, student‑centered courses that incorporate experiential learning. Experience in or connections to community contexts (technology, aerospace, government, business, education, mental‑health care, civic/service, etc.) to develop experiential learning opportunities. Capacity to contribute to lower‑division offerings (General Psychology, Statistics, Research Methods, Brain and Behavior) and/or upper‑division offerings (Lifespan Development, Cognitive Science, Clinical Psychology, etc.). Orientation toward social justice issues and LMU’s mission. Compensation & Benefits Regular reasonably expected salary: $81,000.00 annually.
