Engineering Manager

Core Focus 80% Leadership, Mentorship & Operations / 20% Hands‑on Design Engineering Manager (PE) Founded in the early 90s, this well‑established engineering consulting firm is seeking an Engineering Manager to run our Alexandria headquarters, serve as the primary technical mentor for a dedicated team of six junior engineers, and ensure high standards of project execution are maintained. What You’ll Do Lead & Mentor: Act as the primary technical guide for a bright team of ~6 junior and mid‑level engineers, reviewing their work and fostering their professional growth. Run Daily Operations: Oversee engineering workflows, manage schedules, and ensure all deliverables are completed accurately, safely, and on time. Keep a Hand in Design: Dedicate about 20% of your time to hands‑on civil and light structural design, utilizing specialized industry software. Partner with Leadership: Act as the vital bridge between the production team and executive leadership, collaborating directly with the President on high‑level strategy. What We Are Looking For The Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s a plus). A valid Professional Engineer (PE) license is required (Texas PE or immediate reciprocity in Louisiana). The Experience: 8–10+ years of progressive engineering experience, showing readiness for a definitive management step. Technical & Software Domain: A strong background in civil or light structural engineering. Experience with utility infrastructure, power delivery, or substation design highly preferred. Hands‑on familiarity with PCAD and PSL‑Pole is a distinct advantage. Communication: Exceptional English communication skills, with a proven track record of leading project meetings and writing clear technical reports. Ready to Lead?
