CONTRACT | Senior Accountant

Lawyers on Demand, a Consilio Company , is urgently seeking a contract Senior Accountant to support one of our law firm clients in San Francisco. Start: ASAP following interview and selection Pay Rate: market, negotiable, starting at $35/hour Location: downtown San Francisco Duration: open-ended contract, contract-to-hire for the right performer ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Work closely with the Controller to oversee and maintain cost fund accounts & the firm’s trust account. Work closely with the senior paralegal to ensure the timely and accurate processing of settlement payments and other case disbursements as directed. Prepare and process transactions, including checks, wire transfers, ACH payments, correspondence, etc., and document into accounting software. Reconcile bank accounts at month end. Prepare and post standard journal entries. Support month-end and year-end close process. Work with external tax accountants on quarterly and annual requests. Communicate effectively with internal and external parties. Produce Accounting reports and assists with special projects, as needed. Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED Respond to requests in a professional manner and timely manner, and seeks feedback/follow-up as appropriate. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree required, Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with direct exposure to accounting operation duties like AP, AR, and cash reconciliations.
