Ohio University has launched a national search for our next Executive Vice President and Provost, with the goal of naming the next executive vice president and provost before the start of the 2026-27 spring semester. Department Summary - Ohio University seeks a collaborative, forward-looking academic leader to serve as Executive Vice President and Provost (EVPP), OHIO's second-ranking officer who reports to the President and acts on her behalf when necessary. Serving as the University's chief academic officer, the EVPP provides strategic leadership for all academic programs, faculty affairs, and student success efforts across the institution.

Position Profile - Chief Academic Officer. Leadership role with a faculty appointment.

Minimum Qualifications - Terminal degree and record of scholarly achievement appropriate for appointment as a full professor. Significant academic leadership experience (e.g., dean or above). Successful examples of curricular innovation, change management, revenue growth, and relationship management with partners and stakeholders. Demonstrated success managing complex organizations, budgets, and change initiatives. Strong commitment to student success, shared governance, and academic excellence.

Preferred Qualifications - Collaborative, transparent, and relationship-driven leadership style. Ability to lead through complexity and drive institutional change. Demonstrated commitment to upholding and advancing the principles of freedom of expression and academic freedom, fostering an environment where differing perspectives can be shared, examined, and debated in a respectful and intellectually rigorous community. Demonstrated success in building productive relationships, fostering trust, and engaging effectively with a broad range of stakeholders, including alumni, donors, community leaders, industry partners, government entities and governing boards, in support of institutional priorities. Strategic, innovative thinker with a willingness to take thoughtful risks. Commitment to community engagement and regional impact.
