Powder Coating Technician (1st and 2nd Shifts!)

Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour (+$2/hr shift differential)
Job Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM and 5:30pm-3:30am
Location: Hanover, MD

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Powder Coating Technician to join a growing manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience in powder coating, industrial painting, metal finishing, or a related manufacturing environment. This position offers a four-day workweek, competitive pay, and the opportunity to transition into a permanent role with excellent benefits.

Responsibilities

Prepare metal parts for coating, including cleaning, degreasing, sandblasting, masking, and proper racking
Operate powder coating equipment including spray guns, booths, and curing ovens
Apply powder coatings according to job specifications and quality standards
Monitor coating thickness, consistency, and overall finish quality
Load and unload materials from curing ovens and conveyors
Inspect finished products for defects, uneven coverage, contamination, or color variation
Perform touch-ups and rework as needed to meet quality requirements
Maintain production documentation and quality records
Clean and maintain powder coating equipment and work areas
Follow all safety procedures and properly use required PPE
Assist with inventory tracking of coating materials and supplies
Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to improve processes and resolve issues

QualificationsRequired

Experience in powder coating, industrial painting, metal finishing, or manufacturing environments preferred
Familiarity with powder coating equipment and application techniques
Ability to read and interpret work orders, specifications, and technical instructions
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Basic understanding of quality inspections and manufacturing standards
Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods

Physical Requirements

Frequently stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift
Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
Work in a manufacturing environment while following established safety protocols
