Job Description Summary The Technical Application Engineer demonstrates leadership in supporting the business’ goals, programs, and processes. In this role you will, solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.#LI-ML2 Job Description ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES As the Technical Application Engineer you will: Work with Sales, channels and customers on pre-sales and post-Sales technical efforts on Industrial Communications products (MDS and Lentronics) Develop and execute technical sales strategies relevant to market opportunities Communicate individual customer requirements to Sales Manager in regards to designs and quotations Communicate requirements for order fulfillment to sourcing and operations teams Direct the management of customer’s with clear communication internally and externally Document competitors’ activities and assess potential market moves Review and influence customer specifications to assure compliance and/or noted exceptions for development of equipment and service quotations Be engaged with other Communications Sales Application Engineers, Sales Managers and immediate manager Make technical presentations to all levels of the customer’s organization Develop engineering and installation work scopes, schedules and cost estimates to facilitate total scope project offerings Manage and negotiate commercial and contractual risk within the Inquiry to Order (ITO) process Contribute positively to regional sales, orders, profitability, and ITO quality goals REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college and or equivalent years experience Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Technical Engineering role ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Ability and willingness to travel up to 70% DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) CS (Computer Science) MIS (Management Information Systems) IEEE, 4RF Six Sigma training or equivalent Quality Training Ability to work independently without direct supervision Excellent creative problem solving skills, Interpersonal and leadership skills, Customer mindset Demonstrated oral and written communication skills & Solid presentation skills Additional Information GE Vernova offers a great work environment, professional development, challenging careers, and competitive compensation. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
