Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Nurse Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Emergency Room Nursing License: Current RN License (VT or compact multi-state) Certifications: BLS, ACLS required; TNCC preferred Description: The Emergency Department has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse. In this fast-paced position, the ED RN provides direct care and evaluates outcomes. The nurse consults with other specialties as required and adjusts the nursing care process to ensure optimal patient care. Working well under pressure, the RN collaborates with other health team members to coordinate medical and nursing management of patient care. This facility has a very busy Emergency Department, seeing over 15,000 patients per year. RNs must be able to learn quickly and be proactive team members. The rural ED has nine beds and is currently undergoing construction for an expansion. This is a not-for-profit independent hospital providing primary and preventive care, surgical and specialty services, inpatient and outpatient care, and 24-hour physician-staffed emergency services. Please note that there is no public transportation in the area. Familiarity with or the ability to quickly learn the Meditech system is required. Credentialing must be completed promptly to avoid a delayed start date. Holiday coverage is required.
