Step into an impactful role supporting elementary students as a school psychologist for a contract position available from September 2nd through January 1st. Near Edison, NJ, this assignment offers the opportunity to collaborate within a dedicated educational community, working closely with students, families, and school staff to foster a nurturing learning environment.
Key qualifications and experience:
- Active School Psychologist certification required
- Background providing psychological and counseling services in elementary school settings preferred
- Proven ability to manage a diverse caseload and offer individualized support
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with teachers and families
- Experience with assessment, intervention, and development of student support plans
Primary responsibilities:
- Provide psychological assessments and evaluations for a caseload of 25-30 elementary students
- Deliver counseling services, maintaining a counseling roster of approximately 15 students
- Develop and implement individualized education and behavioral plans in collaboration with school staff and families
- Consult with classroom teachers, support staff, and parents regarding student needs
- Participate in eligibility meetings, team conferences, and the development of support strategies
- Maintain thorough, confidential records in accordance with district and state guidelines
