The Assistant Director will work closely with the Center Director and ownership to ensure the school operates smoothly, maintains a high standard of care and education, and provides excellent service to children, families, and staff. We are looking for someone who is organized, dependable, professional, and comfortable taking initiative in a busy early childhood education environment. Key Responsibilities Assist the Center Director with the daily operation of the school Help supervise and support teachers and classroom staff Ensure classrooms maintain appropriate staffing and supervision Assist with staff scheduling, attendance, timekeeping, and coverage Monitor classroom quality, cleanliness, safety, and compliance Communicate professionally with parents and respond to questions or concerns Assist with enrollment, tours, new family orientation, and parent communication Help maintain accurate student and staff records Support Georgia DECAL licensing and regulatory requirements Assist with Georgia Pre-K program operations and documentation Help monitor tuition accounts, attendance, and enrollment records Address day-to-day operational issues and **escalate** significant matters to the Director Assist with staff training, meetings, and performance follow-up Help create a positive, professional, and team-oriented school environment Perform other management duties as assigned by the Director or Owner Qualifications Previous experience in an early childhood education, preschool, daycare, or childcare management position preferred Assistant Director, Lead Teacher, or administrative experience in a childcare center strongly preferred Knowledge of Georgia childcare licensing requirements preferred Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to supervise and motivate staff Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Professional and positive attitude Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Ability to work independently and make appropriate day-to-day decisions Must be able to pass all required background checks and meet applicable Georgia childcare employment requirements Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who wants to grow with the school and take an active role in its success . We are looking for a hands-on leader who is comfortable working with teachers, children, and families and who understands that a successful school requires both excellent classroom operations and excellent customer service. Experience with enrollment, staff management, parent relations, Georgia Pre-K, and childcare center administration is a strong plus. Schedule Full-time The school operates Monday through Friday. The Assistant Director must be available during the school's operating hours and have flexibility to assist with opening, closing, staff coverage, and operational needs when necessary.
