Machinist

Advanced Worker

Job Description

We’re looking for a Machinist to join a custom job shop team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on machining work, takes pride in precision, and values working safely as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities:

Set up, adjust, and operate manual and CNC machines for a wide variety of custom machining work
Plan and select feeds, speeds, tooling, workholding, and cutting sequences
Machine parts with close tolerances and quality finish requirements
Work from drawings, specifications, and sketches
Use precision measuring instruments to inspect your own work
Edit feeds and speeds and load existing CNC programs
Grind tools, including form tools, and recommend tooling improvements
Assist other machinists and operators as needed
Safely handle materials, including lifting up to 50 lbs. and operating cranes
Follow all safety requirements and demonstrate safe work practices

Qualifications:

At least 4 years of machine shop experience (stainless steel experience preferred)
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read complex blueprints
Ability to set up and operate manual and CNC machines
Experience using precision measuring instruments
Solid shop math skills (fractions, decimals, conversions)
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, ERP)
Reliable, detail-oriented, and quality-focused
