Yard Jockey – 2 nd Shift: Lena , Illinois

Our customer in Lena, Illinois is seeking motivated individuals to join their team. We’re recruiting Yard Jockeys to work full-time on 2nd shift. As a Yard Jockey, you will be responsible for safely transporting materials between production and warehouse areas while maintaining efficient yard operations.

Responsibilities of the  Yard Jockey :

• Drives a straight truck to move materials to and from production plant and warehouses
• Moves materials from production docks to warehouse docks
• Checks and maintains fuel and oil levels; reports any malfunctions or maintenance needs
• Assists in loading, unloading, pallet sorting, and other duties as directed
• Operates trucks, tractors, lift trucks, and pallet jacks with flexibility and precision
• Communicates with Supervisors, Material Handlers, and Forklift Operators to ensure proper trailer movement
• Complies with all procedures following an accident
• Completes required paperwork including Driver Truck Tracker, Trailer Inspection Reports, and Food Safety documentation
• Maintains regular, predictable attendance
• Performs other duties as assigned

Yard Jockey   Requirements and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid Class C license and forklift certification
• Experience in food manufacturing preferred
• 1-3 years tractor trailer driving experience preferred
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Basic mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English
• Ability to work in hot and cold climates
• Ability to work in noisy environments
• Ability to stand, climb stairs, and reach above chest level frequently
• Lift and/or carry 70lbs
• Steel toe boots required

Pay for  Yard Jockey : Starting at $20.50-$22.50/hour.
