Plant Engineer/Project Manager

Shared Resource Solutions, Inc. is seeking a candidate on behalf of an unnamed client who is a manufacturer of plastic bottles in Merrillville, IN. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Plant engineer is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, upgrades and projects to keep the plant in reliable operational status. The position is a salaried, exempt position. Qualifications Degree in mechanical, industrial or electrical engineering 3-5 years of progressively increasing responsibilities for the operation and upkeep of a highly mechanized manufacturing facility Specific knowledge/experience with mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical powered operations Desired Experience/Knowledge Mechanical systems: rotating equipment, conveyors, pumps, compressors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems Electrical systems: single‑line diagrams, motor controls, variable frequency drives, power distribution, backup power Utility systems: compressed air design and distribution, water chillers, HVAC Understanding of related software and programming including understanding of digital code Experience in preventative maintenance and forecasting Experience in writing reports Experience in the packaging or plastics industry a plus. Abilities Act independently and without direct supervision Consultative approach to getting the job done Ability to analyze and evaluate multiple options Flexible approach to problem solving.
