Role Description The Trailer Mechanic is a full-time, on-site role based in Kansas City, KS. This role involves performing routine and corrective maintenance on trailers, including inspections, diagnosis of mechanical issues, and completion of necessary repairs. The Trailer Mechanic will work with heavy equipment and trailer systems such as brakes, suspensions, lights, and structural components to ensure safe and reliable operation. Daily tasks include conducting preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical problems, documenting work performed, and following safety protocols. The mechanic will collaborate with the operations team to minimize downtime, maintain accurate maintenance records, and support a clean, organized shop environment. Qualifications Candidates should possess skills in Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair for trailers and related equipment. Candidates should possess skills in Preventive Maintenance to perform regular inspections and scheduled service. Candidates should possess skills in working with Heavy Equipment commonly used in trailer repair and shop operations. Candidates should possess strong Troubleshooting skills for diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues. Experience as a trailer, diesel, or automotive mechanic, preferably in an industrial or logistics environment. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic instruments safely and effectively. Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards related to trailers and fleet equipment is beneficial. Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work independently and as part of a team. High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in mechanics is a plus.
